Creating Passive Income Through Affiliate Marketing

No matter where you look online, it seems like every affiliate marketing opportunity will promise you the kind of passive income that will set you up for life.  Between exclamations of earning 100K in a month and netting a $173 per hour fee working part-time, it’s easy to get excited about all of the opportunities that affiliate programs offer savvy marketers.  Yet like with most industries, there are a few bad apples out there who are looking to make a quick buck off of you, leaving you high and dry with hardly any passive income at all.

Affiliate marketers need to be on the lookout for these types of programs, as nothing can be more infuriating than putting in your time and resources, only to discover that the affiliate program is a dud.  So how can you determine which affiliate programs are worth your time right from the get go – and which programs will generate the kind of passive income that got you into the business in the first place?  Luckily for you, I’ve got the scoop; so grab a cup of coffee, settle in your favorite chair and get ready to never be duped by unscrupulous “affiliate programs” again!

Reputation Is Key.  Just like you protect your reputation as an affiliate marketer, you should always research a potential affiliate partner’s company or product in order to determine if it’s worth your time.  A good affiliate program will have a spotless reputation, with a long list of happy clients who highly recommend the affiliate.  Additionally, a good affiliate program will be more than happy to show what their affiliates make, so don’t be afraid to ask for proof of financial success.  Only affiliates with something to hide will come up with excuses to avoid showing you proof of success, so as soon as they start coming up with excuses, move on to the next program.

Determine If The Niche Is Successful.  Savvy affiliate marketers won’t just jump at every available opportunity to make money.  Instead, these marketers will take the time to research the niche that the product or service is in to determine if it has long-term moneymaking potential.  For example, many programs offer one-time deals that might make you money for a short amount of time – but what if you want to keep generating passive income over and over without putting in extra effort?  Determine if the niche has that kind of potential by checking if affiliate programs have offered these products for a significant amount of time.  The more long-term passive income potential the niche has, the longer programs will be in the niche.

Use A Directory.  Affiliate directories like Clickbank should be considered your best friend, since this website will only display programs that have genuine passive income potential.  Simply go to clickbank.com and peruse through the opportunities.  Again, pick a program that has a high success rate with lots of happy – and wealthy! – affiliate marketers who can attest to the moneymaking power of that particular affiliate program.

If It’s Too Good To Be True…  Yup, that old saying really is right: if it’s too good to be true, then it probably is a big fat marketing ploy.  Many unscrupulous affiliate programs will try to lure in unsuspecting marketers by promising thousands of dollars with the single push of a button in the first day.  While this may have happened once or twice, real passive income won’t happen right away; in fact, it takes time and effort to set up a system that will fatten your bank account.  Avoid the programs that promise no work with a fat payout – no matter what job you have, whether it’s online or offline, you do have to put in work and effort in order to become a financial success.

Remember, to become a successful affiliate marketer that generates the kind of passive income that pays the bills, it’s important to be smart about which programs you align yourself with.  Avoid any programs that are making extravagant promises (again, it’s unlikely that you’ll make $7,000 in one day right away), research the programs reputation and be sure to find a niche that will not only rake it the green – you’ll have a fat bank account for as long as you’re an affiliate marketer!
